Raza Gillani is a Pakistani journalist, freelance reporter, and student organizer currently enrolled in New York University’s Global Journalism and Near Eastern Studies Program, where they are also a MacCracken Fellow at the Hagop Kevorkian Center. Gillani has worked as an investigative journalist and served on the board of the Pakistani media organization Lok Sujag, writing on governance, institutional malpractice, labor rights, the juvenile justice system, and grassroots political movements in Pakistan. They are also a longtime student organizer and co‑founder of the Progressive Students Collective and the Haqooq‑e‑Khalq Movement, playing a key role in student‑led demonstrations and advocacy for social justice.
